JAMMU, Sept 1: The State Level Inter-District chess competition Under-19 boys and girls got underway at Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports Complex, Gandhi Nagar, here.
The competitions are being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports as part of Annual Calendar of Activities, under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, its Director General  and under the chairmanship of Ved Parkash, Deputy Director, Jammu. Sukhdev Raj DYSSO Jammu is the organising secretary.
In chess Under-19 boys, Shivinder of Jammu defeated Amit Sharma of Kathua, Aditya Bharat of Jammu outplayed Junaid Akbar of Budgam, Kanav Gupta of Jammu got better of Robin Vaid of Udhampur, Variender Singh of Jammu outclassed Mehraj Ahmad of Kulgam, Bilal Ahmed of Pulwama outwitted Mudasir Ashraf of Budgam, Umer Nazir of Kulgam trounced Lone Nazri Moin of Baramulla.
In chess Under-19 girls, Pranjali of Kathua drubbed Muskan of Udhampur, Akriti Kotwal of Jammu beat Sonali Sharma, Navneet of Kathua defeated Nayandeep Kour of Jammu and Parul of Jammu toppled Ruhi Rajput of Kathua.
