REASI, Aug 7: District Level Inter-School competitions for Girls Under-19 in the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Volleyball were organized at General Zorawar Sports Stadium Reasi wherein participants from different Higher Secondary Schools of district Reasi participated.
The Tournament was held under the supervision of Dr SS Chib, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Reasi.
At the inauguration, a team of female District Officers comprising Sulakshna Thakur, Assistant Director Employment, Seema Kharyal, Assistant Labour Commissioner and Indira Khussoo, Sports Officer graced the occasion.
While addressing the female participants, the Officers were unanimous in their approach stating that women empowerment can only be realized in true letter and spirit through education, adding the medium of sports can be the most potent tool for attaining wholesome development of the personality.
Probables in each of the disciplines of Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball and Wrestling were selected for imparting coaching prior to their deployment for participation at the State Level Inter District Competitions later on.
The other prominent persons present at the inauguration included Om Parkash Sharma, ZPEO Reasi, Manohar Lal, and ZPEO Chassana.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar PEM, Tour Kumar PEM, Ajay Kumar Billa, Ajay Kumar, Manzoor Hussain, Pradeep Nag and Opinder Pal Singh.
Final results: Volleyball: HSS Reasi outplayed HSS Pouni by 2-0.
Kabaddi: HSS Bharakh defeated HSS Pouni by 28-09.
Kho-Kho: HSS Arnas beat HSS Bharakh by 10-05.
