JAMMU, Mar 30: Riding on a splendid half-century (75) by Raman Kumar, United Cricket Club (UCC) Udhampur crushed Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Jammu by a huge margin of 164 runs to seal berth in the semifinals of the ongoing Rigour Cup 50-Over Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Academy at its Stadium, Gharota, near here.
Earlier, batting first, UCC Udhampur scored a decent total of 254 runs in 39 overs in a match reduced to 40 overs-a-side. Raman Sharma played a brilliant innings of 75 runs, while Saksham contributed valuable 44 runs to the total. Dikshant Kundal (31), Gourav Khajuria (19), Sunil (15), Raman Dutta (14) and Ritik (12) were the other contributors. From FCC Jammu, Zaffer Ali took 3 wickets, while Ravi Choudhary, Mohd Iqbal and Sarvesh Kumar.
In reply, FCC Jammu bundled-out for a paltry total of 90 runs in 27.1 overs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 164 runs. Vicky Kumar and Abhinav Khajuria contributed 22 and 21 runs respectively. Sarvesh Kumar also chipped in with 11 runs.
From UCC Udhampur, Abish, Brijesh Sharma, Raman Dutta, Ritik and Gourav Khajuria shared 2 wickets each. For his superb batting display, Raman Sharma was adjudged as the man of the match.
President Chand Champions Cricket Club Nishat Srinagar, Mr Hilal was the chief guest on the occasion, who presented man of the match award to the winner.
The Tournament is being held under the supervision of Vikrant Sharma, Director Country Cricket Academy and Vivek Sharma, Former Ranji Trophy Player.
