JAMMU, Apr 3: United Cricket Club (UCC) Udhampur got the better of Amateur Cricket Club (ACC) Udhampur in a close contest by 2 wickets to seal berth in the finals and face AG’s J&K in the title clash of the ongoing Rigour Cup 50-Over Cricket Tournament, being organized by Country Cricket Club at Gharota, near here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, ACC scored a paltry total of 108 runs in 29 overs. Shubham Khajuria top scored with 25 runs, while Kanhaiya Wadhawan and Ankush Bandral contributed 18 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Ashank also chipped in with 12 runs. Ritik Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for UCC, who took 3 important wickets by conceding 25 runs, while Akash Choudhary bagged 2 wickets and Saksham claimed one.
In reply, UCC chased the target in 26 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Sunil Sharma (24), Akash Choudhary (23) and Gokul Baru (15) were the main contributors. Shubham Khajuria was the wrecker-in-chief who took 4 wickets by giving away 23 runs, while Ankush Bandral and Sunil Kumar took 2 wickets each. Ritik of UCC Udhampur was declared as man of the match for his brilliant bowling display.
The Tournament is being organized by Country Cricket Club in collaboration with the Project Model School, Janipur, Jammu, under the supervision of former Ranji Trophy Players Vivek Sharma and Sandeep Singh (Sunny).
