JAMMU, Feb 15: Udhampur Football Club and Sainik Colony FC scripted victories over Young Hero and Hero FC respectively by 1 goal to nil each in the ongoing 1st Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial Football Tournament, here today.
The championship is being organized by Shaheen Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (DFA Jammu) at GGM Science College Football Ground, Jammu.
In the first match, Udhampur City FC defeated Young Hero by 1 goal to nil. The lone goal was secured by Amit in 40th minute of the game for the winning team, whereas in 2nd match, Sainik Colony trounced Hero FC by 1 goal to nil wherein the self goal by Hero FC helped the Sainik Colony FC to register the win over their opponent in the 2nd half of the game.
The chief guest of today’s matches was Ashwani Sharma (Ex. MLA Bishnah) and guest of honour was Jit Angral (Ex. Chairman JMC & Corporator Ward No. 12). They were accompanied by Rajesh Sumbria, David Masih, Yousaf Don, Rakesh Kumar, Clint Matto, Peter Sandhu, Rajinder Abrol and Ramesh Chander (Org. Secretary & International player).
Udhampur City FC will lock horns with Sainik Colony FC at1 pm and JK Bank XI to face Vijay Club at 3 pm tomorrow.
Ricky, Satnam, Shivam and Aryan were the referees of today’s matches.
