JAMMU, Sept 16: District Udhampur made a clean sweep by claiming all three kho-kho titles of Under-19, Under-17 and Under-14 boys in the Divisional Level Inter-District Kho-Kho Tournament, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Youth Hostel Nagrota, here.
Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Navin Aggarwal was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed medals and certificates among the winners and runners-up teams on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest served strict instructions to the selectors with regard to picking teams on merit.
In kho-kho Under-14 boys final, Udhampur defeated Reasi in a close contest by one point to win the title, while in kho-kho Under-17 boys summit clash, Udhampur got better of Rajouri again by one point (6-5).
Earlier, in Under-17 boys semifinals, Rajouri outplayed Jammu and Udhampur trounced Reasi.
Meanwhile, in kho-kho Under-19 boys final, Udhampur prevailed over Jammu by one point (4-3), while in semifinals earlier, Udhampur thrashed Doda by one turn and 6 points, while Jammu beat Samba by one point (5-4).
Earlier, Ved Parkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports presented welcome address, while the vote of thanks was presented by Tirath Ram, DYSSO, Jammu.
The matches were officiated by ZPEO HL Pandita, Ravi Kumar, Chander Kanta, Rajesh Sambyal, Ravinder Singh Bali, Surajdev Singh and Narayan Singh.
