JAMMU, May 30: Outplaying District Srinagar by (2-0) sets in the summit clash, District Udhampur Under-17 boys won the title trophy of the State Level Inter-District badminton competition, organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Indoor Hall, District Police Lines, here today.
District Jammu girls lifted the title in Under-14 and Under-17 girls, while District Srinagar emerged winner in Under-14 boys badminton event.
The competitions were held under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
Earlier, in badminton Under-14 girls, Jammu defeated Budgam by (2-0). In singles, Naman Mansotra of Jammu trounced Rhytham of Budgam by 1-0 sets (30-9), while in doubles, Naman and Bhavni of Jammu got better of Falak Naaz and Rhytham of Budgam by 1-0 (30-8), while in Under-17 girls badminton final, Jammu drubbed Kathua by (2-0) sets, with Ammeksha of Jammu defeating Janvi Singh of Kathua in singles and Shivali and Ashima of Jammu drubbing Janvi and Samiksha of Kathua.
In badminton Under-17 boys, Udhampur outplayed Srinagar by (2-0), with Kanshik defeating Adam in singles and Kanshik and Harsh prevailing over Adam and Marij, while in badminton Under-14 boys, Srinagar got better of Udhampur by (2-0). Aamil of Srinagar defeated Ritik Anand of Udhampur in singles, while Aamil and Saliq of Srinagar got better of Saiyam Sharma and Ritik Anand of Udhampur.
