JAMMU, Oct 3: Udhayveer Singh from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, Jammu and Mithlesh Wanchoo from the ASCOMS, Jammu bagged first prizes in the Classical Instrumental (Solo) Percussion and Non-Percussion events respectively, conducted under the ongoing “Display Your Talent”, 2013-14 by the Department of Students Welfare at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu, here.
In Classical Instrumental (Solo) Percussion, Udhayveer Singh was the lone participant and bagged the first prize for his performance.
S Balbir Singh, Semi Feroz and Neeraj Verma were the adjudicators in the said event.
In Classical Instrumental (Solo) Non-Percussion, bagged first prize, while Sheetal Sharma from Govt Women College, Parade and Harjot Singh from the Department of Punjabi, University of Jammu clinched second and third prize respectively.
The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Rajni Devi from Govt Women College, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Dr Usha Bagati, Kulbushan Sharma and Ashwani Kumar Sharma were the adjudicators in the event.
Prof NK Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare distributed the prizes amongst the winners.
Dr Yudhvir Singh from the Department of Geology was the teacher incharge for both the events who apprised the participants about the rules and regulations of the contest.
The proceedings were conducted by Apoorva Jamwal, secretary, Students Cultural Council.
Prof Yash Pal Sharma, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee was also present on this occasion.
