KATRA, Mar 2: Riding on a brilliant knock of 49 runs by Umar Bhatt, coupled with valuable contribution of 26 runs by Waqar Zaidi, CRPF 6th Bn defeated SMVDSM (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board) XI by 6 wickets in a friendly match, organized by SBVDSB at tits Sports Complex ground, here today.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, SMVDSB XI scored a decent total of 153 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 7 wickets in the process. Moksh top scored with 31 runs, while Sunit and Sham contributed 29 and 25 runs to the total resepctively. Amit chipped in with 17 runs. For CRPF XI, Umar, Khande, Subash and Khan claimed one wicket each.
In reply, CRPF XI chased the target by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Apart from Umar and Waqar, Ajay AND Saini contributed 22 and 18 runs respectively. For SMVDSB XI,. Moksh, Wahid Hussain and Puran claimed one wicket each.
Additional Chief Executive Oficer, SMVDSB, Dr MK Kumar was the special guest, while senior officers of CRPF along with Jawans and employees of SMVDSB were present on the occasion.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports welcomed the dignitaries alongwith players and officials of both the teams.
