KATHUA, Dec 24: One dead body of an unidentified female was recovered from Bala Gura area of Jhani, and person committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in Kathua, today.
According to a police spokesperson, a dead body of an unidentified female (aged about 24-25) appearing to be a non-local, dressed in coat-pent was spotted by some passersby lying in a dugwell at Bala Gura area falling under the jurisdiction of Hiranagar Police Station.
On getting information, a police team reached the spot and shifted the dead body to mortuary room of district Hospital, Kathua for identification and post mortem.
A case in this regard has been registered at Hiranagar Police Station, where police has started inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPc.
Meanwhile, a businessman allegedly committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence Khar Kra area in South Kathua, city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a man identified as Suchin Kumar (37) son of Tara Chand, a resident of Khar Kra of South Kathua consumed some poisonous at his residence, late last night.
The family members shifted him to Sub-District Hospital, Kathua, where he was declared as bought dead by doctors.
The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem. Later, the body was handed over to the family members for last rites.
The concerned police has taken cognizance of the matter.
