JAMMU, Jan 19: An unidentified man of age about 25-30 years died after being hit by a train at 87.37 Km in Bari-Brahmana area of Samba district.
“The mishap occurred last evening at about 7:50,” a spokesman of Police Post GRP Bari Brahmana said. He said the man was hit by an oil loaded train which was going towards Pathankot from Jammu and died on spot.
He said the dead body of the deceased was kept in mortuary room of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for postmortem/identification. “The deceased is wheatish in colour and is wearing Yellow Jacket and Black Trouser,” he added.
“In order to ascertain the actual cause of death, inquest proceeding has been initiated at Police Post GRP Bari Brahmana,” the spokesman said, adding, anybody having any clue about the identity/residential particulars of the deceased may contact GRP Jammu on Telephone Number 0191-2474946 (PCR GRP Jammu) and GRP Jammu Helpline Number 1512.
