UDHAMPUR, Apr 23: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Uniform Force Headquarters, Reasi conducted “Inter Village Volleyball Competition” for the youth of Mahore and adjoining villages.
18 teams from adjoining villages participated in the week long tournament. The aim of the tournament was to attract the youth towards the spirit of the game, create a healthy outlet for youthful energy and foster friendship and harmony amongst the locals.
The conduct of volleyball matches under project Sadbhavana received an overwhelming response from the locals. The Army has assured continued support on such goodwill project. The conduct of such rural sports event would strengthen the adventurous streak amongst the youth of the region.
The tournament was attended by officials from the civil administration, Army, veterans and the local populace. Prizes were awarded to the winners and runners-up teams, besides best player and best smasher of the tournament.
The local populace thanked the Army authorities and village sport development bodies for conduct of the tournament and giving the youth an opportunity to showcase their talent.
