LEH, Apr 24: United Welfare Society Youth Tia organized its 3rd Annual Archery Tournament at Tia, here on Sunday.
Hill Council Executive Councillor (EC) for Agriculture, Tsering Wangdus was the chief guest on the occasion, while Councillor Tingmosgang Tsering Morup was guest of honour.
Appreciating the youth for actively participating in sporting activities, EC Wangdus said that sports and games help in overall development of one’s personality. He also assured to make Tia as Model village for overall development.
Congratulating the youth for organizing such tournament to preserve the ancestral sport, Councillor Tsering Morup said that such sports also provides opportunity to youth to shine at National and International levels.
Addressing the gathering Nambardar Stanzin Chotak also spoke on the occasion.
Earlier, Youth President Thinles Dorjay presented welcome address.
On the occasion, Capt Chhering Stobdan was felicitated with appreciation certificate for his contributions in the welfare of Tia village.
