Universal acquires rights of ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2’

LONDON, Nov 13:  Universal has acquired rights of sequel to the 2002 comedy ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding’.
The studios  are set to release the movie in the US and much of the rest of the world, reported Contactmusic.
The movie, which was first announced back in May, will see star and screenwriter Nia Vardalos reprise her role as Toula Portokalos.
Vardalos, 52, will be joined in the follow-up by John Corbett, who played her love interest in the original. She has written the script for the project and the plot involves a ‘bigger and fatter’ wedding than that in the first film.
Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks will produce with Gary Goetzman. (PTI)
