JAMMU, Apr 2: An unknown person was charred to death in a mysterious fire that broke out in a tin shed in Rajpura Chungi area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a mysterious fire broke out today at about 8 pm in a tin shed allegedly belonging to Forest department. He said the fire tenders were called out to douse the blaze but till the time they arrived and doused the flames, an unknown person, whose even gender could not be ascertained, charred completely and died.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for identification and post mortem”, he said adding a case in this connection was registered at concerned police station and further investigations were underway.
The spokesman further said that the tin shed which was engulfed in the fire, used to be forest check post but was abandoned by the forest officials a long ago and who was occupying the shed is a matter of investigation.
