Upgrade Girls High School Chenani

At a time when schools and colleges were opened and upgraded in erstwhile J&K State in most fair and transparent manner. It is again requested to Govt to upgrade the oldest Govt. Girls High School, Chenani as Girls Higher Secondary School. It is pertinent to mention that oldest Hilly area Tehsil Chenani has already been declared as Educationally Backward Zone and there is no Girls Higher Secondary School in this Tehsil. The demand for the upgradation of Girls High School Chenani to Higher Secondary School has always remained main public demand for more than two decades. During the Chief Ministership of Gulam Nabi Azad only two public demands were made from entire Tehsil, one for Degree College, and other for Girls Higher Secondary School during his visit to Chenani. As we remember he announced on the spot for up-gradation of Girls High School as Higher Secondary School. Years passed, Govts changed but demand for upgadation was never considered. It is also submitted that Govt. Girls High School Chenani fulfills all norms as laid down by the Education Department for its upgradation. The feasibility report stands submitted to higher authorities many times but due to political considerations the genuine case was ignored always. Now in the present time the J&K State is passing through period of real Development without any political consideration. We hope that the present Administrative set up of J&K UT will do justice with poor girl students of about ten major hilly area villages who come to Chenani in search of higher education. There is no availability of Higher Secondary Education in these villages touching peaks of Dhar Lodha, Dhar Shivgarh and Jug-Dhar, so the only destination available for Higher Secondary is central location Chenani with crowded Boys Higher Secondary School. In the interest of Education of girl students it is requested that Govt. Girls High School Chenani be upgraded on Higher Secondary School.

Enhance salary of Mid-day meal workers
Since introduction of Mid-day meal scheme several years past, these workers stand engaged on meagre salary of Rs 1000 P.M.Their salary remained unrevised, perhaps for the reasons that their case has never been projected to the authorities concerned. By calculation, hardly Rs 34-35 per day come to their lot. When cost of living is so high, keeping body and soul together of family members, is difficult to explain. What is more distressing is that the nature of their duty demands regularity and punctuality, thus, they can’t go any where else to supplement their income. Why authorities couldn’t or didn’t consider their case for revision of salary, stands unanswered. It is no exaggeration to state that if the Headmaster of the school doesn’t turn up-matters a least but if the worker doesn’t come, the students would go without meal. In the light of the facts, any delay in enhancement of their salary would prove as a last straw to break a camel’s back. Therefore, any amount of justification in this regard, is felt inadequate.

Repair Lower Muthi road
This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities that the road link connecting Jammu-Akhnoor Highway with the road connecting Bohri and Lale-Da-Bagh (near Lower Muthi) is not suitable for two way traffic being constructed only for one way traffic only. As the traffic on this link road has increased, motorists face great inconvenience while plying on this narrow road. Besides, one witnesses too many traffic jams, particularly during marriage season.
As such it is requested that this road be widened on both sides to make it suitable for two way traffic. Before such a move is initiated, it is pleaded that the road be repaired as it has developed numerous potholes which may damage vehicles, particularly during night hours.
