UP’s Abhinayak lifts 68th Moori Kesari Dangal title

REASI, Mar 31: Wrestler Abhinayak from Kanpur (UP) emerged as the champion of the 68th Moori Kesari Dangal 2025 by defeating Chhota Gani of Hoshiarpur, Punjab, in a thrilling contest at Village Moori, District Reasi. Abhinayak claimed the prestigious title with his victory in the first malli bout and was awarded a cash prize of Rs 60,000. Runner-up Chhota Gani received Rs 40,000 for his remarkable performance.
The event, organized by the Peer Baba Dangal Committee Moori in collaboration with the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, saw a total of 51 bouts played throughout the day. Shiv Kumar Sharma, former Joint Secretary of the J&K State Sports Council and President of the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, was the chief guest who distributed Rs 3, 25,000 in cash prizes among the wrestlers.
Other key winners included Surjit Singh of J&K Police, who triumphed in the second malli bout, and Muneer, also from J&K Police, who won the third malli bout. The event was officiated by Om Parkash Verma, Raj Singh, Tulinder Kumar, Deepak Wazir and Arun Sharma.
The successful event was attended by many distinguished guests, including Om Parkash Verma, Deep Singh, Rajinder Kumar Ramotra and Master Noor Mohd. The Peer Baba Dangal Committee Moori, under the leadership of Ramesh Kumar Sharma, Tarsem Kumar Sharma and others ensured the event was a grand success.
