JAMMU, Mar 9: Alleging that the recent utterances and decisions of Chief Minister Mufti Mohd and surcharged atmosphere on National scene has created a most volatile situation in the State, Sheikh Abdul Rehman, ex-MLA and president, Samajwadi Party (SP) today said that there is urgent need to form a secular Third Front of all likeminded forces of all the three regions to steer people from present polluted atmosphere.
Referring to the political scenario in the State, Rehman said that riding on so-called Modi wave, the BJP in the State added to its tally from half a dozen to more than two dozen seats, but the opportunistic unholy alliance with PDP in formation of Government has spoiled the whole broth and every citizen in Jammu division feels deceived and betrayed by the BJP as it has made a complete U-turn from its core issues for the sake of power.
He said, on the very first day of taking oath, the utterances of Mufti Mohd Sayeed put the BJP on back foot and in embarrassing situation for thanking Pakistan, separatists and militants instead of voters and security forces for peaceful polls.
Rehman said people got betrayed and mislead by BJP and PDP, and when beginning signaled a bad omen, people need not attach high hopes. There is very likelihood that this Government will not complete its full term and may fall soon, he predicted.
He cautioned the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed that it is not the BJP led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee but is the Modi led BJP being remote controlled from Nagpur.
Under these circumstances, he said there is urgent need to form a secular, democratic and socialistic Third Front of all likeminded forces of all the three regions to steer out the people from the present polluted atmosphere towards peace and prosperity.
