USTA deputation submits memo to Education Minister

JAMMU, Apr 28: A deputation of J&K United School Teachers’ Association (USTA) today met Education Minister, Altaf Ahmed Bukhari, in his office chamber and submitted a memorandum of demands of the teaching community.
The deputation, which was led by USTA provincial president, Hari Singh, put forth many demands, which include revoking of Government Order No 66 of Education dated 16-02-2017 and adjustment of all drop out Masters whose DPC was made in February 2014, releasing long pending salary of Masters and teachers working under SSA scheme, payment of arrears of regularized ReT teachers and implementation of transfer policy in letter and spirit.
Besides, the deputation members also demanded holding of DPC after every six months, debar teachers from non-academic duties, enhancement of salary of non-regularized ReT teachers from Rs 3000 to Rs 18000, regularization of lecturers, headmasters and principals working in their own pay and grade, etc.
