UT Level Badminton competitions underway

SRINAGAR, Sept 12: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) J&K commenced the Inter-District UT Level Badminton competitions at the Indoor Sports Complex. The event, featuring participants from all 20 districts of Jammu & Kashmir, kicked off with the Under-14 boys’ matches. The competition will culminate on September 28 and will also include Under-17 boys, girls’ categories, and Under-19 matches.
The tournament was officially inaugurated by Mohammad Rashid Kohli, Joint Director Kashmir, who praised the young athletes for their dedication and sportsmanship. Kohli highlighted the significance of such events in promoting sports culture at the grassroots level and encouraging healthy competition.
The competition is being held with stringent safety and health protocols, ensuring the well-being of all involved. As the tournament progresses, it promises to deliver exciting performances and showcase emerging badminton talent across the Union Territory.
