JAMMU, Mar 29: J&K UT level Boxing Championship, organised by J&K Amateur Boxing Association under the aegis of J&K Olympic Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, concluded at Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The championship was organised under the supervision of Sandeep Singh Chib (DYSS), Inder Singh (BSF), Gautam Kumar, Rajneesh Kumar, Harinder Pal Singh (Jammu University), Khalida Bano and Sajad Pathan.
Dr Saleem Ur Rehman, Director General J&K Health Services was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Prof Ashutosh Sharma president JKOA was the guest of honour. They distributed certificates and medals among the winners.
In senior men 48 kg, Maan Singh, Vishal Kathua & Ankit Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in 52 kg, Dildar Singh, Yuvraj and Rohit bagged top three medals and in 51 kg, Prajwal Jamwal, Ankush Sharma and Saqib won top three medals, while Sameer Hussain also won bronze, besides in 60 kg, Sandeep, Sahil Lalotra and Danish Kumar clinched first three medals respectively, whereas in 63 kg, Sahil Ahmad and Rohit Raina secured gold and silver, while Ameer Annayat and Jan Mohd Dar won bronze medals.
In 75 kg, first two medals were clinched by Sahil Ali and Aquib Ahmad, while Aijaz Majeed and Mohd Sohail secured bronze medals, whereas in junior boys, Owais Rashid Zafar Iqbal and P Raina won top three medals respectively and in youth women 49 kg, Samita Devi and Maryam Khatoon secured gold and silver, while Kiran Katoch and Muskan secured bronze medals.
