JAMMU, Nov 1: J&K UT level Master Athletic Championship was organised under the supervision of Abdul Qayoom, president and Tarsem Basotra, general secretary of the Association at MA Stadium, here today.
In men walk 5 km (65 plus) Tarsem Basotra stood 1st with clocked timing 35:31 second, whereas in 55 plus Vinay Sharma remained 1st with clocked timing 36:3 minutes and in 60 plus, Lal Chand stood 1st with clocked timing 44 minutes.
In men-shotput, Jagdish Chander Sharma and Rajinder Nath bagged 1st place in 65 plus and 75 plus category respectively, while in 40 plus, Sukhbir and Vasino Dev remained 1st and 2nd respectively and Gurucharan Singh and Rakesh Singh stood 1st and 2nd in 45 plus category respectively, besides in 55 plus category, Govind Saren and Sakish Kumar bagged 1st and 2nd places respectively, while SL Sharma clinched 1st place in 60 plus.
In men 5 km run, Capt Jagdish Chander Sharma and Satish Vaid secured 1st and 2nd spot in 65 plus category, whereas in men 10 km run (35 plus) Ravi Kumar Jasal, Sumit Kumar and Sandeep Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in 40 plus category, Vijay Sharma, Kewal Krishan and Sukhbir Singh bagged top three places, besides Karanjeet Lal and Bushan Sharma stood 1st and 2nd in 45 plus category, while Naresh Sharma and Amerjeet Singh clinched top two places in 50 plus category and Jatinder Sharma remained 1st in 55 plus, moreover Satpal Kalsi, Anil Katoch and Nazir Ahmed secured top three places respectively in 60 plus category.
In men 800 mtrs run, Rampal Kapoor and Rishi Kumar stood bagged 1st places in 60 plus and 55 plus categories respectively, whereas Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Sandeep Sharma and Sumeet Sharma clinched top three places in 35 plus category respectively and Abhishek Sharma, Sukhbir Sharma and Dilwawar Khan secured top three places respectively in 40 plus category, besides in 45 plus, Pankaj Mohan and Karanjeet Lal stood 1st and 2nd respectively and Rakesh Kumar topped in 50 plus category.
In men 100 mtrs run, Surjeet Choudhary and Sukhbir Singh stood 1st in 55 plus & 40 plus category respectively, while CB Sharma stood 2nd and Rakesh Kumar bagged 1st place in 50 plus category and Sumit Kumar and Lal Chand Verma stood first in 35 plus & 60 plus category respectively.
In women 5 km walk, Sudesh Basotra and Seema Kharyal bagged top places in 60 plus and 45 plus categories respectively, whereas in women 800 mtrs run, Jyoti Sharma and Shahida stood 1st and 2nd in 35 plus category and Shobna clinched top place in 40 plus category.
In boys 5 km run, Sunny, Sunil Kumar and Karan stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, while in children 100 mtrs run, Yashwini Basotra, Harshita & Mayra stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, besides Raatul Basotra, Adantika Kaushal and Chaitanya bagged top three positions in girls category respectively.
