JAMMU, Dec 5: The UT level Netball Championship, organised by Netball Association of J&K under the aegis of J&K Sports Council, got underway at Indoor Sports Complex Bhagwati Nagar, here today.
The opening day witnessed league competition in different age groups in which nearly 280 participants of more than 10 districts are taking part.
Ranjeet Kalra, Member J&K Sports Council and Member Governing Council Sports, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board was chief guest and inaugurated the two day championship in presence of Bhisham Batra, Director Battra Business Group, Gourav Chopra (Corporator), RK Goyal and Dr Vinay Thusu (Media Head Jammu University) as special guests on the opening ceremony.
Kalra encouraged the participants for being committed to the game and working hard for the title trophies. He appreciated the Association for the successful conduct and complimented the participants for being disciplined.
Earlier, the general secretary of the Association welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished gatherings and also briefed about the event.
