RAJOURI, Mar 17: UT level Inter-District Volleyball Under-19 tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, concluded at Mini Sports Stadium, here today.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pawan Kumar Parihar was the chief guest at the closing ceremony in presence of DYSSO Rajouri, Sunil Singh Sambyal, Sikander Khan (Retd. DYSSO) and ZEO Rajouri, Mohd Shabir.
Two semifinal matches were played wherein Poonch defeated Anantnag, besides Jammu defeated Baramulla and Anantnag remained at 3rd place by defeating Baramulla by 2-0 sets. In the final match, Jammu defeated Poonch by 3-1 sets.
While addressing the participants, the chief guest advised all the participants to regularly take part in physical activities for their good health. He also appreciated the department for conducting such types of activities in the district as well as at UT level.
DYSSO Rajouri explained to the chief guest about the Academic calendar of the department.
About 20 district players participated in this tournament which was organised on league cum knockout basis. Gulzar Ahmed was the venue In-charge/Assistant organising secretary, while ZPEO Baljarallan, Wali Mohd was the convener of the event.
