*Tare slammed a glorious ton

JAMMU, Dec 3: Wicketkeeper batter Aditya Tare slammed a glorious ton and overwhelmed the efforts of the quartet of Vivrant Sharma, Auqib Nabi, Shubham Khajuria and Shubham Singh Pundir to script a convincing victory for Uttarakhand against Jammu and Kashmir in the Vijay Hazare Trophy match at Gujarat College Cricket Ground A, today.
Chasing a big total of 283 runs, Uttarakhand were struggling at 85/4 in 15.2 overs, before Tare and Kunal Chandela made a partnership of 158 runs and took the score to 243/5 in 38.1 overs. After the dismissal of Chandela, Tare continued his brilliance and along with Akhil Singh Rawat took their side to home in 45 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus winning the match by 5 wickets. Tare top scored with unbeaten 225 runs off 101 balls, studded with 17 fours and 3 sixes, while Chandela and Avneesh Sudha contributed valuable 56 and 51 runs to the total respectively. Akhil Singh contributed unbeaten 22 runs to the total.
Auqib Nabi was the pick of the bowlers for J&K who took 4 wickets by conceding 39 runs in his 10 overs, while Rasikh Salam claimed one wicket.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu and Kashmir scored a good total of 283 runs in the stipulated 50 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Vivrant Sharma played a magnificent innings of 83 runs off 74 balls, studded with 11 fours and 2 sixes, while Shubham Khajuria contributed 51 runs off 72 balls with 6 fours and one six. Shubham Singh Pundir scored brisk 45 runs off 30 balls including 2 fours and 2 sixes and Qamran Iqbal contributed 46 runs off 64 balls with 6 boundaries. Yudhvir Singh also chipped in with 9-ball 13 runs.
For Uttarakhand, Madhwal A took 3 wickets, while Avneesh Sudha bagged 2 wickets. D Negi and Abhay Negi claimed one wicket each.
