JAMMU, Mar 13: Host Uttarakhand Veterans lifted the first edition of Inter-State Bilateral Cricket Tournament title by defeating J&K Veterans in both the matches held at Dehradun, today.
The tournament was organized jointly by Veterans Cricket Association Uttarakhand and J&K Veterans Cricket Association under the supervision of Rajeev Tyagi, chief patron VCAU and overall guidance of Praveen Tyagi, working president of Board for Veterans Cricket in India.
In the final presentation ceremony, Pankaj Sharma vice president Veterans Cricket Association Uttarakhand was chief guest. He was accompanied by Aman Vohra vice president VCAU and Vivek Suri general secretary J&K Veterans Cricket Association.
Speaking at the occasion, Pankaj Sharma said that the first edition of Inter-State Cricket Tournament was played in a very cordial atmosphere with both teams playing keenly contested games of cricket and ultimately the spirit of the game has won.
Vivek Suri, general secretary appreciated the hospitality of VCAU for organizing this bilateral series and expressed hope that this will become regular affairs in future too.
At the final presentation, Vijay Singh and Satish Kumar of VCAU were awarded as the best batsman and best bowler respectively, while Satish Kumar was adjudged as the best player of the tournament.
Ashwani Jandiyal and captain Vivek Suri were adjudged as best batsman and best bowler from J&K Veterans Cricket Association, respectively.
