Vaid assumes charge as DG Prisons, Mishra as Spl DG Coordination

JAMMU: Dr SP Vaid today took over the charge of Director General of Police, Prisons while S K Mishra of Special DG (Coordination) at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here.

Dr Vaid replaced Mr Mishra as new DG Prisons, an official statement said. Mr Vaid has served the State in different capacities which include SSP Budgam, Udhampur, DIG Jammu Range, DIG Central Kashmir Range, DIG North Kashmir Baramulla, DIG (Adm) PHQ, IGP (Modernization PHQ), IGP Jammu Zone, IGP Crime, J&K.

Meanwhile Mr Mishra, a 1985 batch IPS officer, who took over as DG Coordination has served the State in various capacities including SDPO R S Pura, Ramban, Uri, ASP Kathua, CID Headquarters, SP Kupwara, SP CID CI Jammu, SSP Srinagar, Director Telecom, DIG Jammu, DIG Doda-Udhampur Range, IGP Vigilance, IGP HRC.

During his central deputation, he has served in CRPF as DIG and IG BSF in North East States and headed the Intelligence Wings of BSF. Before joining as Special DG he was posted as DG Prisons Department. Mr Mishra, during his service has been awarded prestigious President’s Police Medal for distinguished Service and Police Medal for Meritorious Service. (AGENCIES)
