SRINAGAR, Oct 1: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), (Headquarters), S. P Vaid today commissioned 4 storied hostel block and lower subordinate residential quarters at Armed Battalion Headquarters at Reshi Pora in Shopian.
While commissioning the building, Mr. Vaid disclosed that the works have been executed under the modernization of the Organization which has been carried out to enhance building infrastructure, in order to provide better living facilities to he personnel. He said that under this activity various constructions works were taken in hand across the State. Special focus has been given to meet the latest requirements of jawans and officers working in different areas of the State, said the ADGP.
Mr. Vaid stressed upon the engineers, who were accompanying him along with the Managing Director, Police Housing Corporation, Alok Puri that they should ensure utilization of quality material in the construction of residential and office complexes.
Managing Director, PHC, Mr. Alok Puri apprised the ADGP about the construction activities in the complex. He said that the hostel block will have mess-cum dining hall, besides having other facilities for the inmates. He said that residential quarters have been constructed keeping in mind the requirements of the staff. He apprised he ADGP that water supply to the complex has been provided through borewell constructed by own sources and the total cost for these works has come to about Rs. 1.71 crores.
Later, the ADGP also commissioned residential quarters at Sangus in Kulgam. The quarters have been constructed within a period of two years at a cost of Rs. 56 lakhs. With the completion of these works the jawans and officers posted in these areas would be accommodated which was a dire need for some time.
Among others, the ADGP was accompanied by DIG Armed (Kashmir), P. Namgiyal, DIG (Administration) PHQ, R. P. Rasutra, Superintending Engineer, (PHC), Omar Farooq, Executive Engineer (PHC), Nissar Ahmed, Commandant IRP 18th Bn. Ghulam Hassan, S. P. Kulgam, Mohammad Shafi and S. P. Shopian, Mumtaz Ahmed.
