Vaishali first in J&K to get Diploma in TISL

JAMMU, Jan 1: An alumnus of Samaj Kalyan Kendra (SKK) run School for Hearing Handicapped, Jammu, Vaishali Raina has become J&K’s first deaf & dumb girl to pass two year Diploma in Teaching Indian Sign Language (TISL) course.
Earlier, she had done her BCA and was selected in Finance Department.
Vaishali is now qualified to teach Indian Sign Language to the deaf students.
She has passed her Diploma course from Indian Sign Language Research & Training Centre of Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disability, Govt of India.
The examination was conducted by the National Board of Examination in Rehabilitation of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
Vaishali had secured 82.65 per cent marks.
SKK encourages its alumni to go for higher studies by reimbursing 50 per cent of the semester fee out of a fund set up for the purpose.
President SKK, KB Jandial has congratulated Vaishali for her outstanding performance and offered to help her in any other higher course.
