JAMMU : The helicopter service to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine remains suspended for the third consecutive day due to an inclement weather from Katra base camp in hilly Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Due to fog, the helicopter service from Katra base camp to Sanji Chhat remained suspended from October 5,” an official here told.
He said due to bad weather conditions and fog all around in the Trikuta Hills, the service was suspended from the first day of Navratras and will resume only after the weather conditions improve.
Vaishno Devi pilgrims especially the old aged and handicapped are facing hardships due to suspended helicopter service while Katra town is witnessing unprecedented rush of pilgrims due to the ongoing Navratras.
