Vanshika of Udhampur bags Sub jr girls Air Pistol gold

JAMMU, Sept 13: Vanshika Joon of Udhampur clinched Sub junior girls.177 Air pistol) gold, while Righa of Jammu and Anubha Suryavanshi of Samba bagged silver and bronze medals respectively in the 5th J&K  State Shooting Championship-2013, organised by the Jammu District Rifle Association  and Delhi Public School, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association, which concluded at Delhi Public School Shooting Range, here today.
Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu MPS Ishar was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed medals and certificates among the outstanding shooters of the state championship.  Brig Ganguly  was  the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion,Vice chancellor, JU  MPS Ishar lauded the efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association in promoting the medal winning sport in Olympics in Jammu and Kashmir State.
He also appreciated the performance of J&K shooters who have won medals for the State in the national level competitions  and also medal winners in the ongoing state championship.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Additional Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh who is also president of Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association said that around 200  shooters drawn  from twenty three District Rifle Associations and Clubs affiliated with Jammu and Kashmir Rifle Association, which included Jammu District Rifle Association; Kathua District Rifle Association:  Udhampur Distt. Rifle Association; Samba Distt. Rifle Association; J&K Police Shooting Club; NCC Shooting Club; Army Shooting Node; Akhnoor; DPS Jammu Shooting Club; KVS School Sunjwan Jammu shooting club; Sainik School Nagrota, shooting  Club Ace of Spades shooting club Rajouri; Srinagar District Shooting Association, Baramulla District  Shooting Association  and  J&K Police  District Shooting Clubs  have participated in the 10 mtrs air rifle and air pistol events in sub junior, youth, junior and senior categories in both men and women.
Results: Youth Girls (.177 Air pistol): Komal Katal(Samba), Rajat Virdhi( Samba) and Kajal Choudhary (Samba).
Junior girls (.177 Air pistol): Shagun Charak (Samba) and Shivani (Jammu).
Sr Women(.177Air Pistol): Greety Mahajan ( Jammu).
Sub Junior girls (.177 Air Rifle): NandikaJoon (Udhampur), Saumya Saksena (Jammu) .
Youth girls (.177 Air Rifle): Shreya Saksena (Jammu) and Purvi Gupta (Jammu).
Junior girls (.177 Air Rifle): Sahzia Batool (Jammu).
Senior women (.177 Air Rifle): Jyosthna (Jammu), Swati Mishra (Jammu) and Deepika Singh (Jammu).
Sub junior boys (.177 Air rifle): Sunmoon Singh Brar ( Rajouri), Angad Singh Walia (Udhampur) and Divikar Singh (Samba).
Youth boys (.177 Air Rifle): Gurashish Singh(Jammu), Gurpreet Singh (Kathua) and Varinder Samyal (Samba).
Junior boys (.177 Air Rifle): Sahil Sharma (Jammu), Aman Singh (Jammu) and Sanjay Baboria (Jammu).
Senior men (.177 air rifle): Subash Chander(JKP), Kulbir Singh (JKP) and Ranjit Chopra, Jammu( both won second place) and Surinder Singh .(JKP).
Sub Junior boys (.177Air Pistol):  Kalhan Bhat, Asad Khan and Ikjot Singh (All from DPS Jammu).
Youth boys (.177 Air Pistol): Tejaswi Singh , Sangram Singh( both from DPS Jammu) and Namandeep Singh Dua (KC Intl School).
Junior boys (.177 Air pistol):  Manish Kumar(Jammu), Harshdeep Singh(Jammu) and  Sidhant Randawa( Jammu).
Senior men (.177 Air pistol): Vijay Kumar (JKP), Mohan Lal (JKP) and Janak Raj (JKP).
Best Shooter in Air Rifle: Shreya Saksena with 372 out of 400.
Best shooter in Air pistol: Vijay Kumar with 371 out of 400.
