Various delegations of migrants call on RRC

JAMMU, July 21: Various delegations of Kashmir migrants called on Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M L Raina here today and discussed the problems of the people with him and demanded their immediate settlement.
A delegation of BJP Kashmir Displaced District led by Sharda Nandan its vice president met Raina and discussed the problems of migrants with him. The pending issues discussed included bifurcation of ration cards, inclusions, issuance of PRCs, etc of displaced community.
They also demanded un interrupted water supply for Jagti township, regular and timely supply of ration, ensuring availability of sufficient medicines in Jagti Hospital and dispensaries of different TRTs, increase in number of ration depots in Jagti and other camps, provision of more ATMs at Jagti and other camps, repairs of quarters at Jagti, and other TRTs.
The other members of delegation were Advocate R K Koul, vice president, P L Dhar general secretary, C L Pandita and A K Sher, secretaries and Dr A K Koul, member Advisory Committee.
Another delegation which met the RRC was of Rainawari Kashmiri Pandit Action Committee. It expressed concern over the destruction and encroachment of religious places of KPs in Rainawari Srinagar which are symbols of their faith and rich cultural heritage of Kashmiri Pandits.
The delegation informed the RRC that the usurpation and encroachment of temples, shrines and cremation grounds are rampant and despite repeated requests there is no visible improvement or restoration in sight.
It demanded that the fake brokers, sellers and land grabbers be brought to book and their activities curtailed.
It demanded that boundary walls be constructed to Vetal Mandir Jogi Lanker Rainawari, Gouri Shanker temple Bagh Jogi Lanker, Shiv Temple Mattoo Mohalla, Jogi Lanker, Shiv Ji temple Misha Sahib, Kar Pora, Shiv Ji Temple Misha Sahib, Rainawari and Gokul Mandir. Besides the renovation of other temples like Jogishwari Mandir complex, Ghat Jogilnaker and handing over of Shivlingam lying in Police Station Rainawari to the Committee.
The delegation was led by president of the Committee B L Jalali, R L Koul organising secretary, Kishore Mattoo, treasurer, S K Raina and Dr Mahesh Koul were its other members.
