JAMMU, June 8: Jammu based organisations have pitched for installation of statue of Padma Shri awardee and legend of Dogri language, Ram Nath Shastri at Amphalla Chowk, so that, the great Dogri writer remain alive in the heart of coming generations.
A joint meeting of Jammu and Kashmir Sangram Sena, Dogra Liberation Front, Hindu Raksha Samiti and Freedom Fighters Jammu was held today under the chairmanship of RK Raina, president of the Sangram Sena.
While addressing the meeting, Raina said that Prof Ram Nath Shastri was a legend and a great scholar who promoted the Dogri language during his life time but present generation has forgotten his contribution towards Dogra society.
Others who were part of the meeting including Dr Rampal Sharma president Dogra Liberation Front, Rajesh Banathia chief organiser, Bhushan Gupta chief advisor, Raju Jamwal, Dr A K Chopra, Rajesh Langer, Shiv Kapoor, Vishal Singh and Arjun Singh.
