JAMMU, Apr 24: Various zones of Jammu district organized Inter-School Tournaments in the disciplines of kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball, wrestling and cricket Under-14 and Under-16/17 at their respectively zones, here today.
At Jourian zone, the final match of cricket was held under the supervision of zonal Physical Education Officer, Veer Ji Bhat, which was inaugurated by Principal HSS Jorian, R D Bhagat.
In this summit clash, HSS Pargwal defeated HS Kaleeth by 117 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, HSS Pargwal scored a decent total of 162 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Kuldip Kumar top scored with 55 runs. For HS Kaleeth, Gourav Kumar scalped 5 wickets.
In reply, HS Kaleeth bundled out for a paltry total of 45 runs as the bowlers wreaked havoc and none of the batsman managed to cross the double figure mark. For HSS Pargwal, Shivam captured 4 important wickets, Akshay bagged 3, while Kuldip and Rajan claimed one wicket each.
The match was officiated by organizing secretary Ramesh Choudhary, Devinder Singh and Parveen Kumar.
At Bhalwal zone, the Inter-School Tournament in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball, cricket and wrestling got underway at HSS Bhalwal, under the supervision of Bhim Singh, Zonal Physical Education Officer.
The matches were officiated by Rampal, Gulbir Singh, Sham Krishan Singh, Narinder Kumar, Bhalwan Singh, Kulbir Singh, Gurdeep Singh, Sunil Abrol and Madan Mohan.
On the second day of Inter-School Tournament for boys Under-14 and dUnder-17 age group final matches were played under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer, Satwari at Government Model Middle High School Satwari.
In kabaddi Under-14 final, Govt MS Channi Himmat defeated Govt MS Balmiki Basti by 13 points, while in kabaddi Under-17 title clash, HSS Kaluchak trounced HS Digiana by 2 points.
The matches were officiated by Rajinder Singh, Laxmikant, Chandel, Chanderkanta, Dalbir Kour, Jatinder Kour, Chamel Singh, Varinder Kumar, Ashnak Raj, Mandep Singh, Jagjit Singh, Renu Bala and Nazia Akhter.
Satwari zone also organized Inter-School Tournament under the chairmanship of Ved Prakash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, while Nirmal Raina, Headmaster HS Jammu Cantt is the vice chairman of the Tournament.
The matches were officiated by Vishal Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Sanjay Khajuria, Harpreet Kour, Pawandeep Kour, Anju Rani, Neelam Rani, Anamika Khajuria, Hardev Singh, Rajesh Gupta, Popinder Kour, Jasbir Kour and Assa Singh.
The Inter-School Tournament of Jammu zone girls was held at GHSS Bakshi Nagar, under the supervision of Zonal Physical Education Officer, Jammu.
Principal HSS Bakshi Nagar, Kamla Kumari was the chief guest on the occasion.
In volleyball Under-17 girls final, ghss Bakshi Nagar defeated KCPS by (2-1) sets, while in kabaddi Under-17 girls final, GHS Gole Panjpeer beat GHSS Rehari by 15 points (22-7).
The Inter-School Tournament was held in the disciplines of kabaddi, kho-kho, volleyball and wrestling for Under-14 and Under-17 boys and girls of Marh zone was held at HSS Ghou Manasan, under the supervision of Chanchal Kour, Zonal Physical Education Marh, while Principal GHSS Ghou Manasan, Sushma Kumari was the chief guest on the occasion and Headmaster Govt HS Ghou Manasan, Sarishta Chib was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Surinder Singh, Bharat Bhushan, Jai Singh, Pritam Lal, Parveen Kumari, Surinder Pal Singh, Ajay Kumar, Ravi Kiran, Rekha Devi, Poonam Sharma, Raman Kumar, Karamjeet Singh, Ujjwal Gupta, Ankush Gupta, Champki Pandita and Jatin Sethi.
At Bishnah zone, the Inter-School Tournament was held under the supervision of Manjeet Kour, Zonal Physical Education, Bishnah, while Diwakar Sharma, Incharge Principal, GBHSS Bishnah and Sardari Lal, zonal education officer Bishnah were the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Raj, Pardeep Kumar, Rekha Gupta, Sudesh Kumar and Rakesh Kumar.
At Dansal zone, the Inter-School Tournament was held in discipline of cricket boys Under-16 at Boys High School Nagrota, under the supervision of Radha Bakshi, PEM Incharge of the Tournament.
Raman Wazir, Sarpanch, Dhok Wazir Kandoli Nagrota was the chief guest on the occasion, while Govind Ram Sharma, Headmaster BHS Nagrota and Saleema Begum, Headmistress Primary School Nagrota weree the guests of honour.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Dass, Radha Bakshi, Anil Shan, Subash Chander, Anjana Rani, Krish Gupta, Karnail Singh, Dheeraj Paul, Kamal Singh, Sanjit Sahrma, Neena Slathia, Rekha Ratra and Vinod Kumar.
