JAMMU, July 24: District Jammu Taekwondo Association in collaboration with CRPF Group Centre organized “2nd J&K State (Cadets) Kyorugi/Poomsae Taekwondo Championship” and “8th Open J&K State Taekwondo Championship” at CRPF Group Centre, Bantalab under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association and Taekwondo Federation of India India.
Around 800 players/officials are participating in this championship and players from the entire Jammu & Kashmir State showcase their skills.
The Championship was started with the demonstration of Taekwondo skills by young boys and girls of different institutions.
The chief guest on the opening ceremony was PC Sharma, President, Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association, whileas guest of honour were DN Pangotra, general secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association and Santosh Kumar, Principal KV Bantalab. The special guests were BR Meena AC CRPF and Srikant AC CRPF, whileas DS Bisht, Commandant CRPF presided over the function.
The technical team was headed by Atul Pangotra, International Referees with his team of officials namely Sanjay Kumar, Rajat Thakur, Mukta Gupta, Rohit Sharma, Sunil Singh, Rajesh Sharma, Rajan, Arvind Kumar Satti, Pankaj Kumar, Narinder Sharma, Nitish Anand and Vipan Sharma.
The Championships were organized under the chairmanship of Anuj Sharma and Gurinder Singh Rakwal, Convener.
Results
In Sub Junior U-16 kg Girls, Muskan and Kavya Verma secured Gold and Silver medals, whereas Maitreya and Vaibhavi Abrol claimed Bronze medals.
In Sub Junior U-18 kg Girls, Aleesha and Soumya secured Gold and Silver medals.
In Sub Junior U-20 kg Girls, Gaurvi Khajuria and Kashish claimed Gold and Silver medals, whereas Meenakshi and Shabana secured Bronze medals.
In Sub Junior U-20 kg Girls, Vanshita and Kohina Chib bagged Gold and Silver medals, whereas Vanshika Langeh and Afsana claimed Bronze medals.
In Sub Junior U-32 kg Girls, Vishaka Jiswar and Prachi Sharma claimed Gold and Silver medals, whereas Netra Hakku and Rashika Kumari bagged Bronze medals.
In Sub Junior U-19 kg Boys, Ruder Pratap and Parth Sharma secured Gold and Silver medals, whereas Neelanjan and Aryan Pandita claimed Bronze medals.
In Sub Junior U-27 kg Boys, Amit Verma and Vaibhav Abrol secured Gold and Silver medals, whereas Harshit Khajuria and Vash Gupta claimed Bronze medals.
In Sub Junior U-35 kg Boys, Bidhan Bisht and Shivankar Mahajan secured Gold and Silver medals.
In Cadet Girls U-29 kg, Vasundra Sharma secured Gold medal, whereas in U-33 kg, Marheen Bano and Sheetu Devi claimed Gold and Silver medals.
In U-44 kg, Arisha Sharma, Manshi Baliyan and Sania secured Gold, Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
In U-51 kg, Aditi Verma and Vanshika Thappa secured Gold and Silver medals.
In U-59 kg, Harjeet Kour secured Gold medal.
