JAMMU, July 18: For reviewing the progress of tenders issued by the JDA, a meeting was convened by the Vice Chairman JDA, R K Shavan.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer JDA, Executive Engineer JDA Div No. II, Chief Architect JDA, Director Land Management JDA and Collector Land Acquisition JDA.
In the pre-bid meeting of the project related to EWS flats, some players from outside State and within State participated and put-forth their view points and queries. The Engineering wing replied the queries and assured the prospective bidders to incorporate the genuine suggestions in the tender document.
It is pertinent to mention that JDA has planned to construct 1038 flats for EWS category under the Prime Minister’s scheme of Housing for All and tenders stood issued. Besides, JDA is also contemplating to construct 144 more 2 BHK and 3BHK flats at Muthi where the work of 72 flats is already under construction and at advanced stage.
Meanwhile, the tenders for these 144 number of flats have been opened and further appraisal is under process. The Vice Chairman directed the Engineering wing to prepare additional DPRs of Housing flats at Sidhra and Majeen so that people can afford to have houses at reasonable rates. Besides, the work of maintenance of gardens/parks of JDA was also reviewed and it was emphasized to improve the maintenance in view of monsoon season.
The Superintending Engineer was directed to authorize the Executive Engineer to deploy labour on case to case basis depending upon the requirement. The progress of identification of unauthorized construction and encroachments was also discussed and the enforcement wing was instructed to act tough against the encroachers and enlist the violations. It was emphasized to create a separate website for the details of violations and encroachments for the general awareness of common man.
