JAMMU, June 18: Prof RD Sharma, Vice-Chancellor University of Jammu today honoured the boxers of the University of Jammu Boxing Academy namely Yogesh Sharma (52 kgs), Rubal Manhas (56 kgs) and Hritik Pandita (75 kgs), who excelled in the 4th National Boxing Championship, organized by the Indu Shree Organization India at Mapusa, Goa recently.
Yogesh and Hrithik won Gold, while Rubal bagged Silver.
Dr Sharma honoured the players in the presence of Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Director Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu.
On the basis of performance Yogesh Sharma has been selected for further participation in an International competition to be held at Bangkok.
Prof Sharma congratulated the boxers for their excellent performance and appreciated the efforts of the Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu and S. Harinderpal Singh, the Boxing Coach.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Akhilesh Sharma, Gagan Kumar, Jai Bharat, S. Harinderpal Singh and PD Singh.
