VC JU interacts with players on Day-4 of State Universities Sports C’ship

JAMMU, Apr 6: Prof RD Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu interacted with the participants from the 12 Universities of the State of J&K participating in the 1st State Universities Sports Championships, organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu at the University Sports Stadium, here.
Prof Sharma was accompanied by Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia, Director Sports University of Jammu and Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor.
The Championships are being organized under the overall supervision of Prof Jasrotia.
In Football (Men), Islamic University of Science & Technology defeated University of Kashmir by (6-1), while University of Jammu blanked SKUAST Kashmir by (5-0) goals.
The matches were officiated by Suresh Gupta, Dheeraj Menia, Rahul Sharma, Gulshan and Gagan Kumar.
In Badminton (Men), SKUAST Jammu defeated SMVDU Katra by (3-0), while in Badminton (Women), SMVDU Katra beat SKUAST Kashmir (2-0) to bag 3rd position and win Bronze medal.
In Table Tennis, Jammu University Table Tennis (Men) team will meet SMVDU Katra in the Finals., while Jammu University Table Tennis women team will take on SMVDU Katra in the final.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Jammu University beat BGSBU Rajouri by 3-0, while in 2nd Semifinal, SMVDU Katra beat Central University Jammu by 3-0.
In TT Women, University of Jammu defeated BGSBU Rajouri by 3-0 in first semifinal, while in the 2nd Semifinal, SMVDU Katra drubbed University of Kashmir by 3-1.
In Volleyball (Women), University of Jammu got better of University of Kashmir by 3-0 (25-11, 25-09, 25-17).
The matches were officiated by Mulkh Raj Khajuria, Amit Sharma and Ramesh Singh Jasrotia.
In Basketball (Men), NIT Srinagar defeated SMVDU Katra by (27-49), while University of Jammu trounced Central University Jammu by (7-51)
In Basketball (Women), University of Jammu prevailed over SKIMS Soura, Kashmir by (08-02), while SMVDU Katra defeated Central University Jammu by (22-04).
