JAMMU, Sept 29: On the invitation of the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India, a team of faculty members and students led by Dr B N Tripathi (Vice Chancellor and Chairman, University Connect Program, SKUAST-Jammu), participated in the G20 University Connect Finale interaction program with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The faculty members who attended the meet, included Prof Rajinder Peshin, Coordinator G20 University Connect at SKUAST-Jammu; Dr Manmohan Sharma, Professor, School of Biotechnology and Dr Sachin Gupta, Professor, Plant Pathology.
A group of nine undergraduate and post graduate students, who were the winners of pre event activities, also attended the programme. More than 5000 students from 101 universities across India attended the mega show.
It was a golden opportunity for faculty and students to listen to the thought provoking address by the Prime Minister Narinder Modi and witness the world class facilities developed at Bharat Mandapam, the venue of G20 Conclave.
The Prime Minister gave a clarion call to youth of the nation to put their best efforts and support the Government policies for making India a developed nation by 2047. He expressed full faith and confidence in the youth of nation to take India forward. The team also interacted with Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Chief Coordinator for India’s G20 Presidency in 2023 and former Foreign Secretary, Govt of India.
The students also got a chance to visit the galleries showing unique exhibits from G20 nations as well as artistic and decorating works at the venue and attend a mega cultural show at Jawaharlal Lal Nehru Stadium hosted on this occasion.
