JAMMU, June 9: Vice Chancellor Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) Prof JP Sharma today visited Division(s) of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacology & Toxicology of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, R S Pura to have first hand appraisal of the on-going activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sharma stressed on the importance of farmers’ need oriented collaborative research projects between two farm Universities of UT of JK i.e. SKUAST-J and SKUAST-K. He suggested for modernization of the University dairy farm so that it can become a model dairy farm. He also suggested for creation of campus management committee to look after routine problems of R S Pura campus.
Earlier, Prof Rajiv Singh, Head, Division of Veterinary Medicine apprised the VC about the developmental, academic, research and extension activities of the Division while Dr Ajay Gupta, Prof & Head, Division of Pharmacology and Toxicology apprised the VC about teaching, research and extension activities of the division.
The VC also critically reviewed the individual scientist accomplishments and performance in teaching, research and extension activities. He also listened problems faced by scientists in carrying out teaching and research activities and directed the concerned for redressal of the same.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by Dr Jag Paul Sharma, Registrar and Director Research, Rajesh Talwar, Comptroller and Director Planning & Monitoring and Dr Sushmita Dadhich, Coordinator of the Programme.
