JAMMU, Jan 16: A team of Veteran Cricket Association J&K (VCAJK) today left to participate in the North Zone Veteran T20 Cricket tournament scheduled to be held at Faridabad, Haryana from January17 to 19.
SSP Mohan Lal Bhagat, SO to ADGP Railways was chief guest who flagged off the team. The North Zone tournament is being organised by Haryana Veteran Cricket Association under the aegis of Board for Veteran Cricket in India (BVCI) under the leadership of Nitin Gadkari Union Minister for Road Transport and Praveen Tyagi, working president, as per statement issued. The winner of the Zone will play for All India Veteran T20 Cricket Championship to be held at Raipur in March this year.
The J&K team will play matches against Haryana, New Delhi & Punjab, chief guest lauded the efforts of VCAJK for giving a platform to Veteran cricketers of J&K to showcase their potential at national level.
The team includes Vivek Suri (Captain), Amit Kumar (VC), Rajeshwar Slathia, Sunil Sharma, Susheetal Dhar, Puneet Wattal, Sunil Jalla, Dushyant Kaul, Ravi Choudhary, Nitin, Sanjeev Chowdhary and Nasir.
