JAMMU, Sept 2: Veteran Cricket Association J&K (VCAJK) and Vidharbh Veterans entered into the finals of ongoing Legend Masters Inter-State Veteran T20 Cricket Championship being organized by Veteran Cricket Association J&K under the aegis of Board for Veterans Cricket in India.
The Tournament is supported by Horizon Group, Emcure AA Agencies and is being driven by AM Hyundai. Bisham Batra (Director, Batra Group) was the chief guest who was accompanied by Ashish Singh (president, Veteran Cricket Association).
In the first match of the day, Vidharbh Veterans beats IFCR North Veterans by a huge margin of 173 runs. Vidharbh Veterans won the toss and elected to bat first and scored 208 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Vikram Batra, Kranti and Rahul Thakur scored 67, 55 and 42 runs respectively. Anand Sharma and Surinder Sharma shared 1 wicket each.
Chasing a daunting target of 209 runs, IFCR North Veterans were bundled out for 35 runs. Shridhar took 4 wickets, Rishi took 3 whereas Manish and Abhijit shared 1 wicket. Shridhar Gadgil of Vidharbh Veterans was declared as Man of the Match.
In other Match of the day, VCAJK beat Board President Veterans Mumbai by 7 wickets. Board President Veterans Mumbai won the toss and elected to bat first. But brilliant bowling spell by Team VCAJK bowled out Board President Veterans Mumbai to 84 runs in 19 overs. Pradeep, Ganesh and Bhavesh scored 16, 14 & 12 runs respectively.
For Team VCAJK, Captain Vivek Suri, Faheem Tak and Rajesh shared 2 wickets each whereas Sachin and Vicky Raina shared 1 wicket each. Chasing a modest total of 85 runs, Team VCAJK started all guns blazing and chased the required runs in 13.1 overs by loosing 3 wickets. Surinder Kachroo, Sunil Bali and Rajeshwar scored 32, 29 & 16 runs. For Vidharbh Veterans Subodh and Raviraj took 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
Vivek Suri, Captain of VCAJK was declared as Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling.
