JAMMU, Nov 18: BJP Member of Parliament & J&K Prabhari Avinash Rai Khanna today strongly refuted that the Central Government has returned back the package for PoK refugees which was forwarded by J&K Government few weeks ago.
Addressing media persons along with BJP senior leaders at Jammu today, Khanna said that what has been circulated in certain newspapers is an irresponsible move on part of some vested persons who want to create confusions among the refugees of different categories. It is also an indicator that the growing popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP cannot be digested by such persons, he added.
Khanna said that the BJP has always advocated the cause of all the refugees and now when we are in Government we are pursuing the same more vigorously and it is hoped that the Modi led NDA Government will soon accede to the long pending demands of the West Pakistan Refugees as well as refugees from PoJK.
He said that the matter is under consideration before Parliamentary Committee and made it clear that disclosure of the contents of proceedings of Standing Committee is breach of the privilege and action can be taken against any such persons who indulge in such practice of leaking the contents.
Avinash Rai Khanna, while appealing the refugee community not to trust all such false statements, reiterated that BJP is committed for the welfare of all categories of the refugees.
BJP State Vice President Ramesh Arora, State Spokesperson & Election Media Incharge Arun Kumar Gupta, Spokespersons Sunil Sethi & Balbir Ram Rattan, Dr. Suresh Ajay Magotra and media team member & Ex-Servicemen Cell State Convener Brig. (retd) Anil Gupta were also present in the press conference.
