VHP to observe July 13 as Black Day

JAMMU, July 10: VHP has decided to observe July 13 as Black Day. This was decided in a meeting of VHP here, today which was chaired by its president advocate Leela Karan Sharma.
Leela Karan in his address said that all Hindu organizations including VHP, Bajrang Dal, Durga Vihani etc will observe the day as black day as on this day Hindus were attacked in Kashmir and it was the first onslaught on them to force them leave the Kashmir Valley and the seeds of mass exodus of Hindus from Valley that took place in 1989-90 were sown on July 13, 1931.
The VHP president has also made appeal to Kashmiri Pandits as well as all nationalist people in the State to wear black badges on that day as a mark of protest. He also demanded that July 13 should cancelled  as a gazetted holiday as on this day a Pakistani national provoked the majority community people of Kashmir to attack minorities and also revolt against the then ruler of the State Maharaja Hari Singh.
Leela Karan said that the Kashmir issue is the creation of the same mindset which attacked the minorities on this day in 1931 and nationalist people should observe it as a black day.
