JAMMU, Oct 7: Terming the attitude of State Government towards Jammu as discriminatory, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad has extended unconditional support to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the event of any agitation over the issuance of controversial SROs on VAT returns.
The notification issued by the Commissioner Commercial Taxes Jammu has targeted the trade and business community of Jammu who have suffered because of their investment and recoveries from the Valley, which have totally washed away and there is hardly any chance of its recovery, VHP said in a statement.
Due to floods, loss of life, crops, and other damages are much higher in Jammu region as compared to that of Srinagar but the State Government is ignoring factual position and has projected a partial picture which is highly discriminatory, the statement added.
