RAJOURI, Oct 23: A delegation of senior BJP leaders led by MLC Vibodh Gupta today visited various parts of Ward No. 8 of Rajouri town. During the visit MLC was accompanied by EO and other officials of Rajouri Municipality and they interacted with the residents of the Ward and sought their assistance in making Rajouri city a model city of the State.
Vibodh also took stock of problems in the area and instructed the concerned departments for early completion of various works allotted to them. Addressing a gathering of citizens Vibodh informed that Rs 15 lakh have been allocated for various works in the Ward which will go a long way in its face-lifting and at the same time will also boost various cleanliness initiatives launched to make Rajouri a clean and green city.
He appreciated the visionary approach of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for launching Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. He said that this campaign over the past two years has transformed the common man’s thinking about cleanliness. He further added that the way the citizens of this country are becoming part of this cleanliness mission the day is not far off when we will soon see a clean India.
Vibodh further added that without the active participation of civil society specially the citizens no Government initiative can see the light of the day. Once Government and citizens take an initiative and start working together then even any impossible work can be made possible. Same is true as far as cleaning of cities in concerned and cities can be cleaned only through responsible behavior of citizens and active participation by concerned Government departments, Gupta stressed.
Rajinder Gupta, Ex-Chairman Municipality was also present on the occasion and while addressing the gathering he said that local youth need to get organized in such a noble cause of cleaning our own city.
