JAMMU, Feb 2: Prof R D Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, Unive-rsity of Jammu, today hosted the Vice Chancellors’ Forum Meet today in the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat, University of Jammu to discuss and deliberate upon the common issues concerning the Universities of Jammu & Kashmir.
Prof Kurshid Iqbal Andrabi, VC, University of Kashmir; Prof. Nazeer Ahmed, VC, SKUAST- Kashmir; Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, VC, SKUAST- Jammu; Prof. Sanjeev Jain, VC, SMVDU; Prof. Javed Musarrat, VC, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University; Prof. Mushtaq A Siddiqi, VC, Islamic University of Science & Technology; Prof Ashok Aima, VC, Central University of Jammu; Prof A R Dar, Director, NIT Srinagar, newly appointed Vice-Chancellors Prof Anju Bhasin, Cluster University, Jammu and Prof Sheikh Javid Ahmed, Cluster University, Kashmir, participated in the meeting of the Forum.
The discussions broadly covered the important topics like adoption of UGC 4th Amendment, Ratio for short listing the candidates for the selection as Assistant Professor, age of superannuation for University employees both teaching and Non Teaching, exchange of faculty among Universities and research institutions of the State with a provision of special leave and other incentives, sharing of common infrastructure and facilities in various Universities etc.
To motivate the best performing University employees, the Forum also deliberated upon to work out the format for Best Teacher Award in the Universities on the basis of feedback from the other Universities.
Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, Vice-Chancellor, University of Kashmir was nominated as the next convener of the Forum for the year 2017-18.
