Vicky XI Pathankot, AMCC Haryana register emphatic victories

KATHUA, Jan 29: Vicky XI Pathankot and AMCC Haryana got better of their rivals to advance in the ongoing 5th Police Martyrs Memorial Inter Club North Zone T20 Cricket Tournament, being organised by Shaheed Welfare Committee and Jammu and Kashmir Police Department at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, Vicky XI defeated Rupa CC Srinagar by a huge margin of 103 runs in an easy contest. Batting first, Vicky XI scored a decent total of 144 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 3 wickets during the process. Prince was the top scorer with 64 runs, while Ravi and Gurvinder contributed 32 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For Rupa CC, Amir, Riyaz and Irfan claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Rupa Club, Srinagar collapsed at 41 runs to lose the match by a big margin of 103 runs. Riyaz scored 9 runs. Ravi was the pick of the bowlers for Vicky XI, who captured 4 important wickets, while Gurvinder and Vicky claimed 2 wickets each.
In another match, AMCC Haryana defeated KC Sports Club by 9 wickets in an easy contest.
Batting first, KC Sports Club  was bundled out for a meagre total of 87 runs, with Siddarth Magotra and Arjun Choudhary contributing 33 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Sunil Dalal and Varun Khanna bagged 3 wickets each, while Chotte took 2 wickets for AMCC Haryana.
In reply, AMCC chased the target easily in 11.2 overs by losing 1 wicket and won the match by 9 wickets. Manoj played a brilliant innings of 72 runs off 43 balls, studded with 8 fours and 5 sixes, while Sachin chipped in with 10 runs. For KC Sports Club, Vivek claimed the lone wicket to fall.
