Vigilance Awareness Week begins with administering of pledge against corruption

JAMMU, Oct 27:  On the instructions of Central Vigilance Commission, Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from October 27 to November 1 to highlight the evils of corruption and its impact on the society.
In the Commissionerate of Income Tax, J&K, Jammu,   the Vigilance Week started today with administering the pledge by the Commissioner A K  Thatai to all the officers and officials of Income Tax Office, Jammu.
All the officers and officials solemnly pledged that they shall continuously strive to bring about integrity and transparency in all spheres of their activities. They also pledged that they shall work unstintingly for eradication of corruption in all spheres of life. They shall remain vigilant and work towards the growth and reputation of their organization through their collective efforts; they shall bring pride to their organizations and provide value based service to their country. They shall do their duty conscientiously and act without fear and favour.
Power Grid Corporation of India is observing Vigilance Awareness Week from today in all its offices falling under Northern Region Transmission System-II.  During the week, several programmes are being organized in various schools apart from site offices for creating awareness among the employees and their family members highlighting evils of corruption and its impact on our society.
On the first day of the week, at its NRTS-II Regional Headquarters, Jammu, pledge was administered to all its employees by the Executive Director, S K Sharma. Messages of President of India, Vice President of India , Prime Minister of India were read out by  Paramjit Singh Chahal, Addl  General Manager(Vigilance), Ajay Holani,  Addl General Manager (PESM) and   R N Sen, DGM (C&M)  respectively. On the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week, Airports Authority of India, Jammu, organized an interactive session of all airport agencies with SP CBI Desh Deep. Others present on the occasion included SSP JKP AHJ Randeep Kumar, Station Managers of all the airlines, Medical Officer Airport and AAI employees.
Addressing on the occasion SP CBI emphasized that a strong   Internal Grievance Redressal Mechanism and a proper feedback system should be in place in all the organizations. He added that leveraging of technology in functioning can address the challenge of corruption to a large extent.
Ramesh Kumar, Airport Director, AAI Jammu, said that combating corruption is the joint responsibility of all the citizens and in this effort we have to join hands to make it a success.
On this occasion a pledge was also taken by all AAI employees for their commitment towards integrity and transparency in all spheres of activities.
Employees of the New India Assurance Company celebrated Vigilance awareness campaign today at their Shalamar Divisional office, Jammu. This simple but impressive function commenced with oath taking ceremony pledged by the employees for bringing out transparency in their day to day working and striving for eradication of corruption in all spheres of life.
Rakesh Gupta, president Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCI), Jammu was the chief guest in this function. He emphasized the need for eradication of corruption evil from our society and requested for transparent official working.
Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Manager of the company,    Dr Daleep Pandita described different forms of corruption and its detrimental consequences on the growth of an individual and development of the society. He urged employees to remain actively vigilant and develop mindset for corrupt free working without any fear and favour.
