JAMMU, Feb 27: Vijay Dogra’s 5-wicket haul helped New Challengers Cricket Club to defeat Chowadi Cricket Club by 9 wickets in the ongoing Jammu and Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Batting first, Chowadi CC has bundled out for paltry 81 runs in 16 overs, with Shahbaz and Kaka contributing 19 and 18 runs to the total respectively. For NCCC, Vijay Dogra was the pick of the bowlers, who took 5 important wickets, while Sumit and Deepak Manhas clinched 2 wickets each.
In reply, NCCC chased the target in 13.3 overs by losing 1 wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Ashu and Pranav contributed 29 runs each. Kadar took one wicket for Chowadi Club. Vijay Dogra was declared as man of the match.
Sidhant Cricket Academy outplayed Krishna Cricket Club by 7 wickets to advance in the Tournament.
Krishna Club scored a meagre total of 72 runs in 17.4 overs, with Banu and Lucky contributing 21 and 13 runs to the total respectively. For Sidhant Academy, Pavit Singh Ishar was the pick of the bowlers, who claimed 3 wickets, while Rohit and Pankaj took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Sidhant Academy achieved the target in 17.1 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Ranjiv Gill and Aryan Dogra contributed 26 and 24 runs to the total respectively. For Krishna Club, Ashu took 2 wickets and Jagdeep claimed one. Pavit Singh Ishar was adjudged as man of the match.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Aircel XI will take on JCC and Sunderbani XI will face Shining Cricket Club.
